It’s rare to get the opportunity to work on such an exciting project as the multi-instrumentalist & producer Mura Masa’s tour to support his Raw Youth Collage album. Having already created all the tour visuals for his previous world tour that catapulted Mura Masa to international recognition and festival headline slots, we were honoured to again be commissioned to create all the tour visuals for Alex’s ambitious new tour.
A nostalgic collage of lost youth – the album’s themes were carried through by curating a visual scrapbook encompassing found footage, diary entries, home movies, childhood mementos, photography and poetry from a whole range of collaborators that contributed to the Raw Youth Collage book that accompanies the album. The main challenge was designing something that felt natural and organic but still retained a structure and precision, whilst working when sliced into the physical grid frames of the LED touring rig.
