We were privileged to again be working with the inimitable set designer, Matt Kinley, on IMM’s Brazilian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic noir musical – Sunset Boulevard. We created a virtual set that was projected on to Kinley’s deconstructed film can stage, setting the scene throughout the drama. Bespoke 3D environments were modelled and animated to provide seamless transitions matching the stage revolve to allow the actors to move from location to location. We transported the audience from Hollywood studios, to the bustling neon city, to the faded mansion of Norma Desmond and back again. Varied interior locations such as the mansion ballroom and attic room were created, in addition to a thrilling car chase through the Hollywood hills.
